Dahlia Flower
~What you will need: scissors, 3 different colors of construction paper (4 sheets for color 1 for the outside circle, three sheets of color 2 for the middle circle, and 2 sheets of color 3 for the inside circle), 6 in. cardboard circle, hot glue gun, ruler, and pencil.
~Directions:
1. Cut out a 6 in. circle out of cardboard. This will be the center vase of your flower.
2.Cut all your sheets of paper to the size of 8.5” by 11”. I did this by measuring my paper with a ruler and marking these measurements by drawing a line with the edge of the ruler.
3.After I drew out all the lines to appropriate size, I cut along these lines resulting in that 8.5” by 11” size.
4.Next, I took one sheet of paper and rolled it into a funnel or cone shape. I then glued the loose edge down to hold the funnel shape.
5.Repeat step 4 for each piece of paper.
6.Once you have all the funnels made, it’s time to start gluing these down onto the cardboard circle.
7.Start with the outermost layer and glue each funnel down one by one to the 6 in. cardboard circle.
8.Once you have made a complete circle with the outermost layer of funnels, you repeat this process of gluing for the next two layers.
- With the middle layer cut off about an inch of the inner point/smaller end of the funnel to make it easier to glue down on top of the outermost layer.
- With the innermost layer, do this same thing, but cut about an inch and a half in order to make it fit a little nicer.
- (you may have some funnels left over of the middle and innermost layers)
9.After you have all three layers glued down, you may add a little decorative center piece to make it look more festive and put together.
~What you will need: canvas board, pencil, acrylic paint, paint brush.
- Draw out the image with pencil
- Paint image on top of sketch
~What you will need: canvas board, crayons, hairdryer, (optional: Printed photo of anything you want)
- Glue the crayons onto canvas with a hot glue gun.
- Set the canvas upright. Use the hairdryer to melt crayons. (It may take a few minutes to see any melting)
Extra:
- If you have a photo cut it out and glue it to the area on canvas.
- Take a plastic cup and hold/tape it there while melting crayons.
- Place plastic around photo so the crayon wont splatter onto photo.
